This past spring we decided to rent a house when we went on vacation to Hilton Head Island. We usually  rent a hotel wherever we go but wanted to do it a little different this time. I learned a lot in the process and I’ll share some things on what to consider when choosing a home to rent. Here are some tips that will help you when looking at Hilton Head Island homes for rent.

1. Determine your price range before anything else.

It’s important to know your budget and have a price range in mind when looking at Hilton Head Island homes for rent.

2. Listen to your heart.

With so many Hilton Head Island homes for rent to choose from, there’s surely a property that will speak to your heart more than the others. Get that one.

3. Choose your location.

All of the Hilton Head Island homes for rent I considered were on the beach because that’s what I wanted. Do you want to be able to walk to restaurants? Would you rather be able to walk to a golf course?

4. Ask about amenities.

Homes offer a variety of amenities that include furnishings, kitchens fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, a washer/dryer, private pools, tennis, business centers, broadband Internet, hot tubs and Jacuzzis. Ask about those most important to you.

5.  Watch for specials.

There are often specials on vacation rentals. Because there are so many vacation rentals available, homeowners and leasing companies are constantly striving to offer the lowest prices.
